Thriving at Work UK Guide

A Guide to creating mentally healthy workplaces

The CMHA Thriving at Work Guide is a framework of standards for organisations to adopt in developing their wellbeing strategies, based on existing good practice in business. The Guide was first launched in 2018 and was based on the Stevenson/Farmer ‘Thriving at Work review of mental health and employers’.

In 2020 the CMHA updated the Guide  to capture the new innovations and more in-depth approaches we have seen in workplace mental health, since our first Guide was launched. In this new Guide, we go further by:

  • Introducing new Standards
  • Having a stronger focus on inclusion and diversity and the intersectionality with mental health
  • Providing a more ambitious set of actions for employers to adopt and lead the way in creating mentally healthy workplaces

The CMHA Thriving at Work Guide has been created collaboratively with our members, for our members. It sets out suggested interventions and practices to achieve the standards.
