‘Business’ and ‘emotion’ are rarely in the same sentence, but they should be. When people feel better, they do better.
We all know that men find it much harder to talk about how they feel and it’s no different in business. Men hold 78% of senior positions in the UK and if they’re not talking about emotions, then you can be sure nobody else is. In fact, in the corporate world, it’s often actively discouraged.
This October at the Mad World Event, we’re launching Calling Out the Men Ltd. We’re calling out the men to come forward and talk to us. To tell us how you’re really feeling, where you might be stuck and why. We’re asking businessmen to step forward and be role models for speaking out about how they really feel, because when this happens we can transform functioning employees into highly engaged and productive workforces.
With male suicide as the biggest killer of men under 35, it’s time to take action.
