Adam’s responses to the two questions that we were unable to get to during the webinar are as follows:
Q: Thinking about how work itself is impacting wellbeing and taking a preventative approach to ill health…is job design review considered as part of the wellbeing strategy?
Adam’s response: On the job design question, I see it as a preventative pillar of our wellbeing strategy. I have just completed an Operational Blueprint for Adam Benedict, which covers all of the types of work that need to be carried out. I have then mapped each person’s strengths and flow states against the required skill sets for each role so that the work energises the person and allows them to perform at a high level. That alignment on its own will inevitably reduce stress and build stronger teams. I believe in the common business vernacular this is known as “having the right bums on the right seats!”
Q: How do you manage the legal projects Adam. What happens if numerous clients all want things done in a similiar time frame – how do you manage the workflow?
Adam’s response: On the project management question, I used some straightforward capacity modelling and a clear prioritisation framework to ensure that we can deliver projects effectively whilst only leaving staff at 80% capacity so that growth can be sustainable/scalable. This maps to about 80 clients on Membership for every team of 5 lawyers. Having this modular based approach will also allow us to parallelise similar tasks, and then we have a “this is how we work” conversation with the client to manage expectations and ensure we are being transparent.
