Honouring the Memory of Cheryl Liew

Cheryl liew

It is with great sadness that I am writing this short tribute for Cheryl Liew who suddenly passed away last month.

Cheryl was a founding partner in Make A Difference Asia and a very dear friend and colleague of us all. It is difficult to put into words, as we are still devastated and reeling from the loss.

Cheryl was a genuine leader in her community in Singapore

For over 20 years Cheryl helped people to excel and take their lives to another level in the areas that matter most.

She inspired leaders to focus on contemporary leadership/organisation, work-life, wellness and mental health, cultural, gender and generational diversity. She believed that these would create inspiring workplaces that enable people to excel with a relevant, inclusive and sustainable high performance culture.

She relished motherhood whilst also pursuing a master’s degree and holding down a full-time job. Realising it was possible for women to succeed in the workplace — if leaders took an innovative approach to talent management.

She was a leader for women in Singapore and around the globe and it makes me sad to think that she will no longer host events like Make A Difference Summit Asia bringing together diverse and interesting perspectives.

Cheryl has definitely left a big hole in our global community and our heartfelt condolences go out to her entire family.
