Zoom in with Dr Wolfgang Seidl from Mercer Marsh Benefits looking at the now and next of workplace wellbeing

A psychiatrist by background and subject matter expert on mental health, Dr Wolfgang Seidl, Partner & Workplace Health & Consulting Leader UK & Europe with Mercer Marsh Benefits, is hugely passionate about improving health at work. He specialises in training and strategic projects, turning real-world data analysis into simple but effective strategies that look at human beings as integrated people, who flourish when they have autonomy and purpose.

He also delivers Mercer’s own training in this space and has just landed a mental health awareness campaign for 83,000 employees in the MMC group.

In this 15 minute interview, for our special “Future of work and workplace wellbeing” edition of Make A Difference News, Dr Seidl proposes a new employee value proposition as an outcome of what we’ve learned from the pandemic and other recent events.

He also reflects on what this looks like in practice and responds to four quick-fire questions which are fundamental to the future of work and workplace wellbeing:

  • What is the importance of measuring employee wellbeing?
  • The expectations we are placing on line managers seem to be increasing. Do we need to simplify this?
  • How important is the personalisation of how we consume work to ensure net-positive mental health?
  • Should more employers be reporting on how they support wellbeing?

The interview wraps up with three key calls to action.

Tune in for some great, practical insights.
