Our Movers and Shakers articles highlight who’s moving up, out or across in the rapidly evolving world of workplace culture, employee health and wellbeing. Here’s a selection of just a few of the many “movers and shakers” that have grabbed my attention in February 2025…
Nikki Kirbell
First up is Nikki Kirbell. After 11 and a half years with Unilever, where she rose up the ranks from Health & Wellbeing Project Coordinator right through to UKI Head of Employee Wellbeing, Nikki has taken on the role of Global Head of Wellbeing with Rolls-Royce. Here she’ll be bringing her unique style to empower people to be healthy, safe and well.
Those who are keeping an eye on movers and shakers in this space will know that at Rolls-Royce, Nikki will be joining Dr Richard Caddis, who became their Chief Medical Officer in July 2024.
Nikki – we are grateful to you for all your support over the years. As one of the founding members of our Advisory Board, your wise words are always welcome and we wish you well in your new post.
Jo Butler
Next up is award-winning FTSE 250 Group Human Resources Director / Chief People Officer Jo Butler. After two years as Chief People Officer at ASOS.com (and prior to that senior roles with Mitie, Itsu and Sainsbury’s), Jo has taken on the role of Chief People Officer with Heathrow Airport.
Writing eloquently on LinkedIn about her appointment Jo said:
“Heathrow is more than just a gateway to global destinations—it’s a place where thousands of people work together every day to make extraordinary things happen. With a front-row view of the northern runway from my desk, I see first hand the scale and impact of this wonderful operation every day”.
“My focus is on Heathrow people: nurturing a culture where talent thrives, careers take off, and every colleague feels valued for the role they play in keeping Heathrow moving”.
“With the Chancellor’s speech this week, reaffirming the importance of Heathrow’s expansion, I think Heathrow’s future has never been more exciting and I’m delighted as a member of the Heathrow Executive team, to be here for the journey”.
We look forward to hearing how Heathrow plans to continue your trailblazing approach to supporting employee health and wellbeing, as previously outlined by your forward-thinking CFO Javier Echave in this profile interview.
Matt Wilson
Meanwhile, Matt Wilson has taken on the role of UK Wellbeing Lead with Computacenter. Here he’ll be at the forefront of the development, planning and implementation of wellbeing programmes and activities. His range of responsibilities includes establishing and leading relationships with external partners and agencies to develop a joined up and collaborative approach to the delivery of wellbeing related programmes. He’ll also be working with internal employee networks as well as playing an active part in the international wellbeing team, working on global initiatives.
Beth Burton
Meanwhile, after eight years and three months with Twinings, Beth Burton has moved to SUEZ UK. Here she’s taken on the role of Wellbeing & Inclusion Manager where she’ll be working with the inspirational Dr Tracey Leghorn, SUEZ UK’s Chief Business Services Officer.
You can get a flavour of SUEZ UK’s progressive and proactive approach to supporting employee health and wellbeing in this profile interview which we conducted with Dr Leghorn.
Amy McKeown
Last but not least is Amy McKeown, who is often cited in our articles, including this one looking at “What health and wellbeing leads are prioritising in 2025” and this one where she explains why “It’s time to rethink how we approach women’s health”.
In addition to Amy’s existing workplace health, mental health, wellbeing strategy, consultancy and mentorship, she has taken on the role of Freelance Medical Writer / Thought Leader at Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM).
Writing on LinkedIn, Amy explained that she’s: “Delighted to be asked to work with Nick Pahl, Neil Greenberg and the rest of the team at such an interesting and pivotal time. Writing and sharing opinion pieces for SOM”.
“A new Labour government, the Employee Right’s Bill, ‘Get Britain Working’ white paper and policy discussion, and the highest recorded levels of sickness absence and benefits being a daily news story means that workplace health has never been higher up the political agenda”.
“I’m super excited to be involved, to be in the discussions, to be able to shape thoughts, ideas and opinions, and to write about and share them”.
Well said Amy. We look forward to reading your articles.
