AI in HR: Seven questions shaping the future of work

Artificial intelligence is changing how organisations operate, but its implications extend well beyond technology and productivity. For HR leaders, the challenge is to ensure that AI transforms work in ways that benefit both businesses and their people.

From establishing clear rules and redesigning roles to protecting employee wellbeing and attracting talent, these issues are explored in HR Loop, a seven-part webinar series, curated by insurance company YuLife, featuring People leaders from organisations including Bupa, Skyscanner and Havas.

Beyond technology: the people challenges of AI

Introducing AI is one thing; embedding it successfully across an organisation is another. Employees need clarity about how new tools should be used, the skills and confidence to work with them, and reassurance that their health and development remain priorities.

HR has an important role in shaping this transition, working with business leaders to establish appropriate safeguards, understand the impact on roles and working relationships, and measure whether implementation is delivering the intended benefits.

The HR Loop series explores these challenges through seven practical sessions:

  • Set the rules: How to establish AI guardrails employees will follow, with Amanda Arrowsmith and Adam Horne.
  • Design the organisation: How high-performing companies are restructuring roles, management and decision-making around AI, with JooBee Yeow and Michelle Coventry.
  • Create the culture: How to protect employee health as AI changes working practices, with Aditi Mishra and Deirdre O’Neill.
  • Engage and retain: How to overcome fear, build trust and encourage organisation-wide adoption, with Dan Södergren.
  • Develop and build: How leaders can sustain the impact of AI implementation, with Harry van der Zwan and Dan Caines.
  • Scale from within: How internal champions can help AI adoption spread, with Thomas Forstner and McKinley Hyden.
  • Futureproof the EVP: Why organisational culture will become an increasingly important differentiator as AI skills become expected, with Ewen MacPherson.

Practical insights and peer learning

Each session lasts 45 minutes and includes live polls, audience discussion and Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to exchange experiences with other People leaders.

The programme also offers a seven-stage AI playbook, with practical guidance on implementation, training and monitoring impact, including how to support employee health throughout the process. Recordings are sent automatically to registered participants who cannot attend live.

Research aims to reveal how AI is changing HR

Alongside the webinars, YuLife’s HR Loop is surveying HR leaders across the UK to build a clearer picture of how AI is affecting their work.

The findings aim to help People teams understand how their experiences compare with those of their peers, providing a useful snapshot of adoption and the challenges emerging in practice.

The survey closes on 23 October, with participants entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Amazon voucher.

How to take part

HR Loop’s seven-part webinar series runs every Tuesday at 9.15am until 17 November. Each session lasts 45 minutes, and registering once provides access to all seven webinars. Recordings will also be available for those unable to attend live. You can register for the webinar series here.

HR leaders can complete the survey here by 23 October to contribute to the research.

As AI becomes an increasingly prominent part of working life, the challenge for employers is not simply to keep pace with the technology, but to shape its adoption in ways that support people, strengthen organisations and create better workplaces.
